GRANT Award Overview

The GRANT Award is a remarkable opportunity for non-profit organizations to leverage the power of online advertising to magnify their impact and raise awareness about their mission-driven initiatives.

Google Grants, a program by Google, provides eligible non-profits with a generous advertising budget to promote their cause on the Google Ads platform.

This grant can provide eligible non-profit organizations with up to $10,000 monthly in free advertising on Google Ads.

The selected non-profit organization will receive a comprehensive 90-day advertising campaign on Google Ads.

This tailored campaign will include strategically designed ads that target relevant audiences, helping the organization enhance its online presence and reach a wider community of potential supporters.

To be considered for the GRANT Award, non-profit organizations must meet specific criteria set forth by Google.

These criteria typically include holding a valid 501(c)(3) status, being registered with a recognized charitable organization, and adhering to Google’s non-discrimination policy.

What is the schedule for the Awards?

The IMPACT Award

  • Public Nominations: September 7th – September 28th, 2023
  • Nominee Selection: September 29th, 2023
  • Winner Campaign Run: October 1st – December 31, 2023

The GRANT Award

  • Public Nominations: January 1st – January 20th, 2024
  • Nominee Selection: January 22nd, 2024
  • Winner Campaign Run: February 1st – April 30st, 2024

How do you choose a winner for the award?

The winner will be chosen by an advisory board based on the company’s background, purpose, and impact on the community.

Is there a cost to participate?

There is NO COST to nominate your favorite organization. However, the winner will be required to have a marketing budget or an active Google Nonprofits account.

What does the winner receive?

The winner will receive a complimentary 90-day Google Search Advertising Campaign from Ten26 Media. A value of $4,500.

What is included in the 90-day Google Search Advertising Campaign?

Strategy Development, Build, and Activation (30 days)

We will meet with the organization to better understand its target market, immediate business objectives, and desired advertising goals. Then, we will set up and launch the most cost-effective digital advertising strategy possible within budget. Our team will design the campaign, ad sets, ads, manage bids, and use audience details to target people who match their ideal customer profile, generating measurable results.

Management, Optimization, and Reporting (60 days)

After putting the digital advertising strategy into action, our team will utilize analytics data to track its performance and identify potential improvement areas. Then, we will use these insights to make the campaigns even more effective and deliver a status report to the team monthly for the entirety of the optimization period.

Does the organization need a marketing budget?

IMPACT – Yes. We recommend a minimum of $1,000 a month budget.
GRANT – No, but you do need an active Google for Nonprofits and Ad Grant accounts.

What is the time commitment for the winner of the prize?

Since we handle the majority of the work, we only request the winner join us for One (1) Kickoff Call and One (1) Strategy Review Meeting. After that, we can determine a meeting cadence that works best for the organization.

What is a B Corp Certified Organization?

Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Unlike other certifications for businesses, B Lab is unique in its ability to measure a company’s entire social and environmental impact.

Who is B Lab?

B Lab is a nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. Building on our standards and certification process, their network leads economic systems change to support its collective vision of an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

Does the 90-Day Advertising Campaign include ad spending?

No, the organization will be responsible for providing an advertising budget for the campaign (60-day period).

Who is eligible for the GRANT awards?

To request a Google for Nonprofits account, you must be a nonprofit charitable organization in good standing and meet the full eligibility requirements in your country.

Please note that some types of organizations are not eligible and will not be verified. Please confirm your organization is:

  • Not a governmental entity or organization
  • Not a hospital or healthcare organization
  • Not a school, academic institution, or university (Google for Education offers a separate program for schools)
